1. History: UTC traces its roots back to the founding of Chattanooga University in 1886. In 1907, Chattanooga University merged with East Tennessee Wesleyan University to form the University of Chattanooga. In 1969, the University of Chattanooga joined the University of Tennessee System and became the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

2. Campus: UTC's campus covers about 125 acres in downtown Chattanooga. The campus features a mix of historic and modern architecture, with academic buildings, residence halls, and recreational facilities.
